Update on the Band - We've been busy!
Ok, it's been too long since I posted here, so I thought I would update what's goin on with "Ebenezer"!
We continue our monthly gig in Granbury at "Hank's on the Square" and it is great fun! Katherine is a go getter, and has talked to lots of places in the Dallas area about playing in thier particular establishments. Pretty much, they all asked for our website, so they could go and listen to the band (which is the way this all seems to happen these days). However, being "Neezers" as we are, we did not have a website with the capability of putting our music up for people to listen, and, worse, we had no recordings of the band playing anything!!!
All this is in the past, now, after we discovered a guy who would come and record us at any location, and we did that last Tuesday night at the MTTS Conference Room, a great venue, if you're a friend of the band. At any rate, we should have some "snippets" as Rusty says, by this weekend (the 21st) that we can put up on our new website which Dr. Ron started constructing yesterday (the 18th). All this with an eye toward getting some gigs in the Dallas area, then maybe ya'll won't have to drive quite so far!
We have been invited to play a concert event with the Texas Christian Songwriters Association in Dallas in June. Now for this event, we need a CD with our original Christian music to sell, so, Rusty and I have invested in some recording software, and, after getting schooled a bit, are going to try and make something happen in this regard. Wish us luck, cause we are probably gonna need it.
Anyway, that is about it for now. Things have gotten rolling, with the recording for the website, and now with a CD project looming, so wish your friendly "Ebenezers" well.
December Dates
Ok, Everybody, here is the scoop on the upcoming events.
First of all, on November 21st (this Friday), Rusty is playing at the "Chicken Scratch" Bistro on the square in Weatherford, Texas. These guys have some great food (to which I can personally attest), and there is no cover (even Better) Rusty might be doing a solo gig here, or maybe Dave will come out and join him, depends on how hungry he is, but if your in the area or just want a good evening of music and food, the "Chicken Scratch" is a great place.
We have been invited to play a private party on December 6th, so we will be asking for extra security to keep the crowds at bay while the birthday party rages on inside. It should be fun, but unless you are a friend of the birthday boy, you can't come hear us......sorry!
We will be at "Hank's On the Square" in Granbury on the 20th of December. Should be good fun as we dust off some Christmas music to prime everyone for the season. Music starts at 8 and goes til around 11, so come on out if you can.
We are also schedules to be there in January on the 10th!
Hope to see some of you guys during the holidays, and if not, God Bless and have a Very Merry!
Seekers & Songwriters
Well, the Seekers & Songwriters show was a great success last night, and now we will be podcasted around the world. We are going Global, from right here in the metroplex, even though we have no recordings and have not really pushed our original music very extensively. Thanks to all our friends out there who have supported us over the years, you make it worthwhile to keep workin on the music!
Seekers & Songwriters is in conjuction with the Texas Christian Songwriters Association which is the brainchild of a fellow named John Hershenburg. He began this in May and is up to 87 members across the state of Texas with chapters in DFW, El Paso, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. He has a great interactive website for members to exchange ideas, and Rusty and I have met some talented and wonderful folks in our month or so of membership. It is through John that we were invited to sing on the show last night. He has some big plans for this group and is working on ways to get members even more exposure. It is an act of love for him and his efforts have been truly blessed.
We'll keep you posted on the upcoming events.....just don't have exact dates for December at "Hank's", guess it's time to dust off the Christmas music!
November Gigs
Saturday November 1st at "Seekers" coffee shop in Hurst (corner Precinct Line Rd. and Harwood) we will be the headliners and play about 2 hours starting around 8:30. We would love for you all to come out, it's only one county over, and have a cup of JAVA and support Ebenezer. This is a Christian oriented family place and we are gonna play some originals (can you believe it?) A $5 cover is still a bargain for good friends, food, and music!
We are at "Hank's on the Square" on the 8th of November from 8 til 11. This is a great venue for us, so come on out, kick around the Square, grab a bite at "Hank's" and listen to some Ebenezer music!
We have also been invited to a "Singer/Songwriter" night at Seekers on the 14th in conjunction with the DFW chapter of the Christian Songwriters Association. There are five groups from around the state, and we have been asked to play. This is gonna be podcasted around the world......Yea....we're goin international. Come out and hear us if you can, and the 4 other groups that have been invite to share their original music.
New Dates and Places
Upcoming EventsIn a bit of a change for Ebenezer, we are playing Friday, October 17th at "Hanks on the Square" in Granbury. We usually play Saturday's there, but this gig is in conjunction with the Second Anniversary Party for "Hanks". There will be specials and a festive atmosphere for all, so come on out and join the party and listen to "Ebenezer". As always, No Cover, Good Food, Good Fun, and "Neezer" music!
Ok, everyone! We passed the audition at Seekers, played as the warm-up act, and now have been invited to be the headliners on November 1st. This is a Saturday, which is good cause we shouldn't have to compete with the High School Football, and is also a place where we are encouraged to sing our original songs (how great is that!). There is a nominal cover, $5, and even better because it is in Tarrant County (just north of HWY 183 on Precinct Line Rd.), you won't have to drive that long to get there! So, plan on coming out and hearing Ebenezer at Seekers on November 1st!
A New Gig
Ok everybody, we passed the audition at "Seekers" coffee shop in Hurst and are schuduled for a warm-up gig on September 19th. We start at 7:45 and play til 8:30, then the headliners come on for the remainder of the evening.
"Seekers" is just north of HWY 183 on Precinct Line Road and Harwood St. What we need is a real good turn out so that the management will bring us in as the headliner act, so, we are asking everyone to come on out and help bolster our chances at the Big Gig.
Hey, at least it's not 2 counties away! We would love to see some of our metroplex friends out in support of the band. We will keep you posted as we get closer.
